Better Together

At St Joseph’s, our motto Better Together reminds us that faith is lived and grown through connection, shared experiences, and community. Last week we came together as a whole school for our Beginning of School Mass, setting a joyful and hopeful tone for the year ahead.

Beginning of School Mass & Year 6 Leadership

Our Beginning of School Mass was a special opportunity to pause, give thanks, and begin the year united in faith. We were especially proud of our Year 6 students who were blessed by Father Angelo and pledged to lead our community with kindness, responsibility, and courage. Their commitment to service and leadership is a wonderful example of how we are Better Together at St Joseph’s.

Shrove Tuesday – Pancakes and Preparation

Next week we begin the season of Lent, a time of reflection, generosity, and renewal in the Church calendar. On Tuesday we will celebrate Shrove Tuesday, and students will enjoy pancakes as they learn about this tradition and how it helps prepare our hearts for Lent. If any families are able to assist with cooking or helping on the day, we would love to hear from you—your support is greatly appreciated.

Ash Wednesday Mass

On Wednesday we will observe Ash Wednesday and will attend Mass as a school community at 9:15am. This marks the beginning of Lent and is a meaningful opportunity for students to reflect and receive ashes as a sign of renewal and hope. Families are most welcome to join us for this Mass.

Living Lent – Better Together

During Lent, students are encouraged to consider how they can grow through small but meaningful actions—showing compassion, making thoughtful choices, being grateful, and giving their time and talents to others. Acts of kindness, forgiveness, and care for our world remind us that when we support and uplift one another, we truly live out our motto of being Better Together.
