Welcome to our Italian Program 2026

Benvenuti a tutti!

I warmly welcome all families, with a special greeting to our Prep and new families joining the Italian program this term.  All our students will enjoy learning through stories, songs, games, and creative activities while discovering the Italian language and culture.

A little snapshot of our term…

The Prep students will explore the story Ecco Pinocchio, sing songs, play games, and practise simple conversations to build their confidence in speaking Italian.

Grade 1/2 students will continue to use Italian for everyday situations such as greetings and classroom routines. They will enjoy listening to stories, perform in short role plays and learn about colours, Carnevale in Venice, and Easter traditions.

The Grade 3/4 students will learn how to talk about their families through Italian songs and poetry. They will use new vocabulary to write short descriptions about their families.

Grade 5/6 students will build simple sentences about themselves and others using the sentence builder model. They will practise speaking in small groups, and grow confident using familiar Italian words.
