Welcome Back to Term 1
I would like to warmly welcome all students and families back to Yanco Public School for the start of a new school year. I am very pleased to be continuing in the role of Relieving Principal and look forward to working closely with our students, staff and community throughout the year.
We hope everyone enjoyed a safe and relaxing break and that students are feeling refreshed and ready for learning.
Our school captains for 2026 are Genevieve Cuteri and Dante Giorgi.
Our sports captians for 2026 are Blayne Wood and Flynn Salerno.
Class Structures for 2026
Our class structures for this year have now been finalised, and students have settled well into their new classes. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child, please contact the school office to arrange a time to speak with us.
Our classes for 2026 are:
Red - K/1 Mrs Jacinta Wheeler, Miss Tarnya Grigg and Ms Meaghan Lewin
Yellow - 1/2/3 Miss Alison Jeffs and Miss Susannah Grigg
Green - 3/4/5 Mr Sam Gullo and Mrs Nicky Browne
Blue - 4/5/6 Ms Brooke Williams and Miss Grace Holt.
Nude Food School
Yanco Public School is aiming to become a 'Nude Food' School this year. We encourage families to pack lunches and snacks with minimal or no packaging to help reduce waste and care for our environment. Reusable containers and drink bottles are strongly encouraged. Thank you for supporting this important initiative.
Permission Notes
Please ensure that all permission notes sent home are completed and returned to the school promptly. This helps us ensure student safety and allows students to participate fully in school activities. All notes will be available on Sentral. If you require another copy of a note, please contact the office.
Student Absences
If your child is absent from school, please notify the school as soon as possible. Absences can be explained by:
- Sending a note to the office,
- Speaking with the class teacher or office staff,
- Submitting a response via Sentral,
- Contacting the school office by phone or text.
Regular attendance is vital for student learning, and we appreciate your support in this matter.
Year 6 Shirts
A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C for beginning a new tradition at Yanco Public School. The P&C have donated each Year 6 student a polo shirt that may be worn each day. Thank you to Kerry and the P&C from our Year 6's.
Year 6 Fundraising
As part of our Y6 fundraising, student sell ice creams or ice blocks on Fridays at recess. These cost between 50c and $2. Ice creams will not be provided to students who have unfortunately lost their coins. Money can be left in the office or with your child's teacher for safe keeping.
