Blue Class Newsletter 💙
Blue Class – Term 1, 2026: A Fantastic Start!
Welcome to our first Blue Class newsletter for 2026! It has been a wonderful start to the year, and I am extremely proud of how positively and enthusiastically students have returned to school. We have already been working hard across all Key Learning Areas and setting strong foundations for the year ahead.
In English, students have begun crafting engaging narratives, focusing on planning, structure, and creativity. We are also fine tuning essential grammar skills, revisiting key rules and applying them directly to our writing to improve clarity and sentence control.
In Mathematics, our focus has been on consolidating number facts and place value, while also strengthening times tables knowledge through repetition and practice. Building fluency in these core skills is a major priority, and students are showing great persistence and growth.
In Science, we have launched into an exciting unit on space, where students are exploring planets, stars, and the wider universe with curiosity and enthusiasm.
In PDHPE, our learning has centred on staying safe online. Students are developing an understanding of responsible digital behaviour, privacy, and respectful online communication. These conversations are incredibly important, and I strongly encourage families to continue discussing online safety at home.
In CAPA, we are busy preparing artworks to enter several local art competitions, which is very exciting. Students are showing creativity, focus, and pride in their work.
Finally, we are very much looking forward to the swimming carnival this Friday. I am already so proud of the effort, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes Blue Class students consistently demonstrate.
Thank you for your ongoing support—it truly makes a difference.
Suggested At-Home Learning Activities
To support classroom learning, students can practise the following at home:
- Reading & Writing – Read for 20 minutes and write a short narrative or journal entry using correct punctuation and interesting vocabulary.
- Maths Fluency – Practise times tables (2–10) aloud or using flashcards for 10–15 minutes.
- Online Safety Chat – Have a family conversation about online safety rules, privacy, and respectful behaviour when using devices.
Joe found a lovely Eastern Longneck turtle in our lunch area today.
Blue calss are taking great care of him for the day.
We were taught about how you can tell he is a male turtle, it's all about the shape of his shell on his tummy. We also discussed what they eat and how long they live for.
Miss Williams will release him with all the other rescue turtles in the big dam on their farm.
