Principal Report
Our school is located on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
Our focus on strengthening connections across the Boroondara community continues to grow. Over the past fortnight, I have enjoyed meeting with several of our local early childhood centres and kindergartens to ensure a smooth and supportive transition for future students. I also met with our local MP, Jess Wilson, as well as leaders from neighbouring primary schools as we continue to collaborate and share knowledge across the area.
This coming Friday, I look forward to welcoming the Mayor Wes Gault of Boroondara, and Cr. Michael Nolan to our school and assembly. These relationships play an important role in advocating for our students and ensuring our school remains strongly connected to the broader community.
In addition, our kinder-foundation Transition Team will be meeting next week to finalise key elements of our 2026 transition program. This includes confirming School Tour, preparing flyers for local kinder, updating our school tour boards, and refining our K‑F transition program to ensure a supportive and engaging experience for incoming families.
We are excited to share the next step in enhancing our morning learning routine. Building on the strong foundations already in place, we are introducing 20 minutes of dedicated reading to begin each day.
This reading time includes:
This consistent structure helps create a calm, predictable start to the day and supports an orderly, highly focused learning environment. It also ensures every student receives personalised attention to strengthen their literacy skills and overall wellbeing.
We are very much looking forward to our Open Classrooms and Welcome Back BBQ. This is a wonderful opportunity for families—whether new or returning—to connect, network, meet our staff, and share in the positive energy of the new school year.
Students are excited to show families some of the fantastic work they’ve already completed. We hope to see many of you there as we celebrate the start of a bright year ahead.
Finally, Happy Chinese New Year to all members of our Chinese community. We wish you prosperity, good health, and happiness in the Year of the Horse.
