First Day of School 2026

Welcome to 2026 at Girton! 

There was a wonderful sense of excitement today as we welcomed our Junior and Senior School students on their first day. To all new students and families joining Girton today, we’re so glad you're here and look forward to the year we will share together. 

As we step into Girton’s theme for 2026, The Year of Noticing, today offered countless little moments worth paying attention to. Students arrived noticing everything from the construction progress preparing our campus for new buildings to the new faces in their classrooms. Many also picked up on the quieter things — the confidence that comes with moving up a year level, the comfort of returning to familiar routines and the sense of possibility that comes with a fresh start. And of course, there were warm reunions marked by the simple joys — fresh haircuts and friends who have grown a little taller over the Summer! 

These first impressions set a beautiful tone for the year ahead: one where we slow down, pay attention and appreciate the details that enrich our community and our learning.
