Camp

We are thankful for all of the parents that came for our Camp information night that was held on Tuesday. If there are any parents out there with any questions about the upcoming camp, please contact the senior teachers. The slides can be made available as well upon request if you wish to view these.

Our camp is now less than four weeks away. Information will be heading home throughout the next few weeks consistently. Please keep your eyes peeled via Compass and Seesaw.

Menstruation incursion

Our Grade 5/6 students recently welcomed Leon, a presenter from a Victorian Government initiative, who delivered an informative and engaging session on menstruation and puberty. Students developed their understanding of the menstrual cycle, the physical and emotional changes associated with puberty, and the importance of personal health and hygiene. The session provided a supportive and respectful environment for students to ask questions, build their knowledge and develop greater confidence and understanding of this important stage of growing up.

Camp Australia incursion

This Tuesday, all students from Grades 3 to 6 headed to the GP Room and were visited by Camp Quality. Below is a summary, from Cameron S, from Grade 5/6B.

"On the 13th of October the grade 5/6s had an incursion from Camp Quality. It was a puppet show/real human show fusion about a boy called Tom and his sister Ariel (who had brain cancer). It taught us about what cancer is and how it happens, how it affects them and people around them in different ways, and what we can do if you know someone dealing with it. For example, Ariel (the one[puppet] with the brain tumour) lost her hair in chemotherapy and missed a lot of school which she hated but she was really cool about it. Meanwhile Tom (human) was forced to move away from his friends and do more chores but in the end he had developed a lot of resilience and compassion, respecting that his sister struck the reverse jackpot of life. His newly grown values helped him win a soccer match. We also learnt that if you know someone with cancer there is no such thing as cancer germs and cancer is NOT contagious."
