Cubs Club Supports Children in Thailand
The Donvale Cubs Club has chosen to donate the funds raised at our Father’s Day Breakfast to Sunshine Children’s Home in Thailand.
Founded in 2015, the home provides vulnerable children and young people with safe accommodation, nutritious food, healthcare, education and support to develop life skills. The building consists of 14 rooms and has the capacity to accommodate approximately 40 children.
Our donation will make a meaningful difference, equating to approximately 570 meals or 1,900 bus fares to school for local children.
We are incredibly proud of our Cubs Club members for choosing such a worthwhile cause and demonstrating the power of kindness, generosity and community spirit!
Pen Pals
The Cubs have decided to exchange letters with children in a Thai school connected with the Lions Club. The school participating in our Pen Pal activity is located in a very isolated area, along a mountain road near the border. The school has no Wi-Fi, relies on solar power for limited lighting and has a restricted water supply.
The Hua Hin Lions Club visits the school regularly to provide support. Unfortunately, due to severe flooding, mail is currently unable to reach the school. Instead, we will email the letters and drawings created by our Cubs Club members to the Lions Club, who will ensure they are delivered to the students.
Food Drive
The Cubs will be running another food drive after last year's successful event. This will take place on Friday 4th December. Look out for more information coming soon.
Our Cubs are certainly making a difference to less fortunate people than themselves.
