Prep
This term Prep students will develop their movement skills through the PMP program, completing circuits that challenge their balance, coordination, jumping, landing and body control. They will revisit ball skills, including throwing, catching and bouncing, and practise locomotor skills such as hopping, skipping, leaping and jumping through fun games and movement circuits. Students will also explore parachute activities, obstacle courses and partner challenges, building their ability to follow instructions, cooperate with classmates and participate safely in physical activities. Prep students will also participate in the P-2 Swimming Program.
Grade 1/2
Our Grade 1/2 students will spend the term continuing to develop their fundamental motor skills, through a range of activities, rotations and games. We will revisit skills we have looked at earlier in the year, including striking, throwing, catching, dribbling, skipping and kicking, while having fun in the Spring and early Summer sunshine. Students also have the Junior Sports Carnival Day, and the P-2 Swimming Program to look forward to.
Grade 3/4
Our Grade 3/4 students will continue developing their skills in a range of different contexts, with a focus on small team games being played with great sportsmanship. We'll look at sports we haven't explored before, including touch rugby, volleyball and frisbee, and look to further increase student capacity to play in teams. Grade 3/4 students will also participate in the 3-6 Swimming Program in early November.
Grade 5/6
Our Grade 5/6 students will finish of the year with a focus on game strategy and teamwork, continuing to build on the fantastic effort we've seen throughout the year. We'll explore sports such as touch rugby and volleyball, and students will have the opportunity to create their own sport (and play it) in the middle of the term. Our Grade 5/6s will participate in the 3-6 Swimming Program, and also assist in the Junior schools Sports Carnival day.
