Captains Corner

Hi everybody! It is wonderful to see everyone around the school with the same enthusiasm as the start of this term. Term 3 is about to come to an end, and can you believe it, one ☝️ last term till the end of the year! Who’s excited for the holidays? I sure am! Without further ado, let me, Jennie, review some of the amazing 🤩 events that happened in Term 3.

In Term 3, we had the Year 6 camp. It was really fun! The Year 6 spent some wonderful time at their campsite and learnt many new things. Everyone was happy to attend such exciting activity. We loved to see Year 6 in action. Hope you had learned something new and had a lovely trip. We can’t wait until the next camp 🏕️! 

In Term 3, we had lots of excursions and incursions, like the trip to the Immigration Museum (Year 3), and Year 2’s went to Puffin Billy . Other year levels had lots of those excursions and incursions too. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn something new, through fun and hands-on activities, along with real world experiences. I hope everyone enjoyed their experience!

We also had the English Open Morning, where parents across the whole school can come to see their children learn English. Parents can see how their child is doing in class and compare it to what they’ve learned when they were young. This can help parents teach children the way the kids learn. Hope that the parents and our students enjoyed the open morning!

Let’s go back to soon-to-be ours prep, young little adventurers who will be joining us next year. We had the prep transition in the last week of school (Week 10 Term 3) and we met some cute ☺️ kids. Some were excited 😆 while others were nervous 😬 , but it’s normal and they will adjust in no time, like our courageous preps this year. We welcome all the new families and also appreciate everyone for choosing GWPS. 

After our wonderful LED screen was installed in our beautiful gymnasium, we had an awesome movie 🎥 night and I hope everyone enjoyed it. We can’t wait until the next movie 🍿 night!

We had some people from the CIS come to review our school on the last week of Term 3. Thank you everyone for making them feel welcomed and shared things about our amazing 🤩 school. 

We can’t wait to start term 4, but of course, we all need a break after working so hard. Remember to stay safe during the holidays and most importantly, enjoy it☺️!
