It’s nearly the end of another successful school term, and let’s face it…there’s been something for everyone! Brain Olympia, Gala Days, Diocesan and Polding Athletics, Dance Extravaganza, P & F Movie Night, NAIDOC Week, School Band performances and so much more! 

Changes to our Social Media (Facebook page)

At St Francis Xavier’s, keeping our students safe, valued, respected and cared for, as well as protected, is our highest priority. In response to the rapid rise of generative AI and the risks associated with online image harvesting and manipulation, we are updating how we share student photos and names on our public social media channels, including Facebook. Please use the link below to learn more about these changes:

P & F Update

Congratulations and gratitude must go to our AMAZING P & F Committee. Their Hair Dressing Night and Movie Night have been a great success! If your family was able to attend these functions, you’ll know just how wonderful these events were. In addition, the Father’s Day stall was a hit as students selected special gifts for their loved ones. The Term 4 P & F Meeting will be held at the beginning of next term, on Tuesday 20th October at 5.15pm. 

Father’s Day Breakfast

Dads, grandads, and father figures joined us for a delicious breakfast, creating a memorable morning together. This event was a wonderful way for our school community to celebrate the important role fathers play in our lives. A big thank you to the families who donated eggs as well as to our staff for organising, cooking and serving delicious food and hot beverages. 

NAIDOC Week

Miss Maddy and Miss Kristie worked tirelessly with our Indigenous students to celebrate “50 Years of Deadly” in our recent NAIDOC Week Celebrations. Our opening assembly was well attended by special guests which included a smoking ceremony. Congratulations to all of our Award winners.

Uniform Policy

Following our recent communication regarding our Uniform policy, we have seen improvements in the way students are wearing their uniform. Thank you for following up with these conversations at home. Now that the weather is warming up, students are asked to wear their summer uniform.

Transition for Kindergarten 2027

This term we have welcomed pre school students who are attending our transition to Kindergarten program. It’s an exciting and nervous time for parents and students, however Mrs Leitch and Mrs Capp are so excited to see all the new faces each week and welcome everyone to St Francis Xavier’s.

St FX School Band

The school band has played at some special events this term. M.A.D Night at Narrabri High School, School Assemblies, and most recently members of the band played at our Kinder Transition Day last Friday.

The school band is exceptionally talented and this is due to the dedication of Ms Rosemary Smith, the commitment from students to practise and their family support. The feedback we receive from audiences is nothing short of complimentary. We are so proud of these talented students.

Dance Extravaganza

The crescendo to our Term is here…Dance Extravaganza 2026! Our theme is “Dancing Through the Decades” and our final rehearsal is this Tuesday, 22nd September. Students should wear their sport uniform and joggers and bring a packed lunch and water bottle. 

We’re all set for a 7:00pm start with the doors opening at 6:30pm. Bring your dancing shoes!

Term 4

Term 4 will commence for staff on Monday 13th October with a Staff Development Day/Pupil Free Day. Students will return to school on Tuesday 13th October.
