Wellbeing and Inclusion

đ R U OK? Dayđ
Â
R U OK? Day on Thursday 10th September, is a national day that reminds us how important it is to regularly check in with the people around us.
Â
For our Lucas Primary School community, itâs an opportunity to help students understand the importance of kindness, friendship, listening and looking out for one another. We can encourage our students to notice when someone might not be feeling okay and to ask a simple question such as, âAre you okay?â

Itâs also a reminder that students donât have to solve a friendâs problems themselves. If they are worried about someone, they can always talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent, teacher or another caring adult. We encourage our school families to take a moment to check in with one another and ask, âAre you okay?â Take the time to listen, show kindness and let someone know they are supported.
