Student Learning Term

Year 5/6 in Term 3
Bike Ed
Last week there was an avalanche of riders heading towards Lucas Primary with one thing on their mind - bike safety. All Year 5/6 students were able to participate in a Bike Education program through Active Pathways which focused on road rules and bicycle safety.
Students each spent an hour of riding within their Bike Education session and despite the cold weather, students were excited! Prior to riding, students completed a short survey about their experiences of riding, what they would most like to learn about and whether they normally rode to school.
The Active Pathways team also assisted Lucas students in creating a map to promote getting to school safely from a variety of starting points throughout the community. The beautiful map which was constructed is up to view in the admin building and has been seen in a number of newsletters.
