Premier's Debating Round 3
Another win for St Johns Park Public School Debating Team! St Johns Park Public School hosted Round 3 of the Premier’s Debating Challenge against Mt Pritchard East Public School. Our talented debaters competed with confidence, teamwork and composure, earning a well-deserved victory. The topic was: 'All parents should have to provide pets to their kids'. Our team successfully argued against this statement. St Johns Park Public School debaters presented well-reasoned arguments, explaining that students can develop responsibility in many ways without the need to have pets.
Congratulations to our talented debaters on their outstanding performance. We are incredibly proud of the confidence, teamwork and critical thinking they demonstrated throughout the competition and look forward to cheering them on in their future debates.
Parks Debating Round 3
Should the school week be reduced to just four days? Our St Johns Park Public School debaters certainly didn't think so! Last week, our team confidently argued the negative side against Bossley Park Public School in Round 3 of the Parks Debating Competition and our team WON!!
Our students delivered compelling and well-supported arguments, explaining how a four-day school week could negatively impact students' learning and wellbeing. They highlighted concerns such as reduced time to effectively teach all Key Learning Areas, the challenges some students may face if left home alone on the extra day, and the impact a shortened school week could have on working families. Through persuasive speaking, thoughtful rebuttals and confident teamwork, our debaters demonstrated exceptional arguments.
Congratulations to our debating team on their outstanding performance and for representing St Johns Park Public School with confidence, respect and excellence. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and look forward to seeing them continue to shine in future rounds.

NSW Primary Schools Chess Competition
Selected members of our Chess Team proudly represented our school at the NSW Primary Schools Chess Competition held at Smithfield Public School on Thursday, 30 July.
Our school entered two teams, with four students in each team, competing against 24 teams from schools across the region. Throughout the competition, our students demonstrated outstanding strategic thinking, resilience, concentration and excellent sportsmanship.
We are delighted to congratulate Team A on achieving an impressive second place, while Team B finished with a fantastic sixth place. These are outstanding achievements, and we are incredibly proud of the effort, teamwork and determination shown by all of our players.
Congratulations to our Chess Team on representing our school with such skill and pride!
