Jollybops Science Incursion

On Tuesday 26 August, Goondiwindi State School welcomed Trevor and Rusty (aka Mark) from Jollybops Science as part of our celebration of National Science Week. This was the second consecutive year, that both Goondiwindi State School students and Goondiwindi Kindergarten, have enjoyed their entertaining and educational science show, along with Rusty’s trademark humour.

This year’s performance, 'The BIG CHEMISTRY Show,' captivated students with exciting experiments and fascinating chemical reactions. The hall was filled with “oohs” and “ahhs” as well as plenty of laughter, making science both fun and memorable.

Bush to Beach

Our Year Five students recently attended the Bush to Beach program, run by Surf Life Saving Queensland.  Students took part in important lessons about beach and swimming safety while enjoying hands-on activities in and around the water.

This experience not only built confidence but also gave our students valuable skills to help them stay safe when visiting the beach. Our year fives will be ready for the beach when they go to camp!

A huge thank you to Surf Life Saving Queensland for making  this fantastic learning opportunity available to our students.
