Junior Mayor
Congratulations to our wonderful School Captains, Thomas, Emilia, Tamara and Jayden, on their efforts at today’s annual Junior Mayor elections, convened by Kingston Council.
The Junior Mayor program has been running in Kingston for more than 60 years, in partnership with the Chelsea Rotary Club. Each year, primary school students from across Kingston take part in the program, learning more about local government, the democratic process, leadership and public speaking. The elected Junior Mayor also has the opportunity to support the Mayor at a range of official Council events.
With the much-appreciated assistance of Mr Chaplin, our team prepared, rehearsed and delivered a strictly timed two-minute speech. They also listened carefully to the presentations from other schools and took part in the process of rating each speech.
CEPS has been involved in the Junior Mayor program for several decades, and our captains continued to represent our school with pride this year. Their preparation, confidence, respectful listening and positive attitude were a credit to themselves and to our school community.
Thank you, team, for your outstanding effort and the way you represented CEPS. We are all very proud of you!
