Premiers’ Reading Challenge 2026 (PRC)

The reading challenge has begun at LPPS! Make sure you log your child’s reading in the PRC portal using their individual log in details, that were provided by your child’s classroom teacher. Please let them know if you have misplaced them!

We have a dedicated PRC section in the library, so students can easily find suitable books. Be sure to check your local library and even your books at home, chances are they’ll be on the list!

Finished books have already begun being verified and only a week in we are already up to 261 books read! Amazing effort from our students!

Mark Wilson Author Visit

On Thursday the 23rd of April our grade 5 and 6 students had the opportunity to participate in a workshop held by acclaimed Australian author and illustrator, Mark Wilson. Mark is a multiple award-winning author/illustrator with 39 books in print worldwide in nine languages, with a particular passion for Australian history, including stories connected to ANZAC Day and the experiences of soldiers and animals in wartime. During his visit students were able to reflect on the significance of ANZAC Day and deepen their understanding of remembrance, courage and service.

Students were lucky enough for Mark to share insights into his creative process and learn how his books are developed from his initial ideas through to publication. During the workshop students enjoyed listening to Mark’s stories, trying their hand at some illustrations and taking part in Mark’s drawing quiz, with many students having their drawings signed by Mark.

We thank Mark for providing a meaningful and engaging workshop for our senior students!
