Dear parents, caregivers and community members,

I was very happy to return to Toogoolawah SHS on Monday this week after spending the latter part of week 2 and all of week 3 of this term at an international conference in Shanghai and engaging in some secondary school visits in Changchun, northern China. It was great to be able to reconnect with staff and students at school on Monday during and throughout the week.

2025 World Teachers Day

This Friday October 31, we celebrate and thank our teachers for their amazing work and their important role in our community and for the positive impact that they have on the lives of students. Thank you to all of our wonderful teachers for their amazing work in each lesson, each day and across each week.

TSHS Annual Awards Evening

The school acknowledged and celebrated the wonderful achievements of approximately 140 students at our annual Awards Evening on Thursday, October 23. A range of awards were presented for achievement in academic, sporting, cultural and citizenship endeavours, as well as a number of special awards for senior secondary students. On behalf of the school community, congratulations to all award recipients on your many achievements throughout 2025.

Facilities Upgrade

Works commenced at school this week through the refurbishment of the tuckshop. Whilst this work is being completed, a temporary canteen has been established for students and staff to access in M Block. We are very fortunate to have the upgrade occurring and I am confident that the new facility will be an amazing resource for the school now and into the future.

Student Achievements

Congratulations our Junior Tree Frogs volleyball team who placed 3rd in their division at the recent Schools Cup on the Gold Coast. This was a fantastic effort and achievement against quality opposition. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Hargreaves to training the team and supporting them over the course of the weekend.

External Exams

Our Year 12 students commenced their External Exams on Monday October 27. We wish all students undertaking external exams the very best throughout the exam period as they aim to obtain the best possible academic results throughout the final stages of their secondary school journey.

Kind regards

Phil Reid
