It has been so wonderful to return to school following my long service leave in Term 3. When I spoke to all students in the Sub-School Assemblies in week 1, I shared that I had really missed this place while overseas and in particular, I missed the people - our students, staff and parents. Reservoir High School is a very special community and I feel so privileged to serve you as the Principal; it provides significant meaning and purpose to my life.

Term 4 is a marvellous time of the school year, as it is when we reflect on, and celebrate, the achievements of our students and prepare to farewell our graduating class, as they embark on their own journey into the world.

Week 2 saw the commencement of our Term 4 theme of celebration of student achievement with the opening of the Arts and Technology Exhibition, which took place in the Design Centre. The display of talent, skill and creativity of our students was extraordinary. The array of projects, pieces and student artwork was immense, showcasing artistic flair and technical brilliance from Art, Media, Visual Communications, Photography, Food Technology, Product Design, Systems Engineering, Digital Technology and the Performing Arts. We were entertained by fabulous music performances and the catering was superb. Thank you to all the families who joined us on the afternoon.

The Year 12 Final Assembly was held last Monday and it allowed us to share the enormous impact that this year’s graduating class have had on our school and celebrate their contribution over the past six years. The Year 12 Exams commenced this week, starting with the English/EAL exam on Tuesday. It has been heartening to see the focus and determination demonstrated by the students In preparing for the exams and they will no doubt be rewarded at the end for the effort they have put in.

Our staff are engaged in a whole-school Professional Learning day this Friday 31st October, focused on Visible Wellbeing, led by Professor Lea Waters. The Visible Wellbeing program will enable us to embed a culture of wellbeing for students, staff and our parents and we will be working with Professor Waters for the next 18 months.

We are busily preparing for 2026 and families of students moving into Years 9 -12 will shortly be receiving the confirmed course of their child’s chosen subjects and the associated costs. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
