What a wonderful day we enjoyed at this year's St Luke's Athletics Carnival. Blessed with beautiful weather, the day was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of community. As students, staff, and families moved around the venue throughout the day, the atmosphere was electric, with everyone coming together to celebrate participation, effort, and achievement.

One of the highlights of the day was the incredible support shown by all involved. Students enthusiastically encouraged and celebrated one another, while staff and parents cheered on competitors and helped create a positive and welcoming environment. A special thank you goes to our staff members who generously gave their time before school to assist with setting up equipment and to those who worked tirelessly throughout the day supervising and supporting students. We would also like to acknowledge the NDC Year 9 Sports Coaching students, whose willingness to volunteer their time and assist throughout the day played a valuable role in the carnival's success.

Events such as our Athletics Carnival continue to strengthen the positive culture and proud tradition of St Luke's. The day is about much more than winning or records. It is about having the courage to have a go, striving to do your best, supporting others, and celebrating personal growth and improvement. It was wonderful to see students of all abilities participating, challenging themselves, and enjoying the experience alongside their peers.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day such a memorable and enjoyable occasion. The inclusive spirit, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm displayed by our students were a true reflection of the values we strive to foster at St Luke's. We look forward to building on this tradition for many years to come.

Interschool Athletics Week – Grade 6’s to Grade 3’s

A reminder that Athletics Week will be held during the first week of Term 4.

Please note that if a competition day is cancelled due to weather, priority for interschool competition will be given to senior year levels, with Grade 6 taking preference, followed by Grade 5, Grade 4, and then Grade 3. Unfortunately, this may mean that Grade 3 students do not get the opportunity to compete at the interschool level if weather disruptions occur.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a fantastic week of participation, sportsmanship, and students striving to achieve their personal best.

Tuesday 6th October – Grade 6’s

Wednesday 7th October – Grade 5’s

Thursday 8th October – Grade 4’s

Friday 9th October – Grade 3’s

Division Basketball – New Event

School Sports Victoria region forum held recently where the decision was made to run a division basketball final prior to the region finals, as has been done in the past.

With the large number of schools entering teams into the region event in the past, the progression to the state finals did not offer the fairest approach for the number of teams we have playing.

This will be played on the Monday 19th of October at the Shepparton Sports Stadium (same week as Region Finals Friday 23rd)

Updated Calendar

· Athletics Week – Tuesday 6th October to Friday 9th October

· Division Athletics – Monday 12th October

· **Division Basketball – Monday 19th October**

· Region Basketball – Friday 23rd October

· T20 Cricket Blasters – Friday 6th November

**New Event added**
