Student Action Team: Connecting, Sharing and Celebrating
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn, play and grow. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from Country, community and each other.
Always Was, Always Will Be (AWAWB) student action team connected with students from Eltham East Primary School during a Zoom networking session. It was a valuable opportunity for students from both schools to meet, share ideas and learn more about each other’s reconciliation work.
As Eltham East Primary School begins establishing its own AWAWB student action team, our students shared some of the work taking place at our school. This included our AWAWB published book, Woiwurrung language learning, newsletter updates, collaborative artwork and ongoing reconciliation actions. The session provided an opportunity for our student action team to celebrate our progress and encourage students at Eltham East Primary School as they begin their own journey.

Join the Always Was, Always Will Be Student Action Team
Do you care about learning, listening and helping our school take action?
The Always Was, Always Will Be Student Action Team is open to students who would like to learn more about First Nations cultures, histories, truth-telling and reconciliation, and help share this learning across our school community.
There is no cost to join - just bring your curiosity, respect, ideas, passion and care for Country.
As part of the team, students may help with:
- creating displays and posters
- sharing Woiwurrung words and learning
- contributing to newsletter updates
- supporting school projects and artwork
- helping others learn about respect, truth-telling and reconciliation
How to join:
Come along to one of our lunch play meetings, listen out for the announcement, or speak to Ms Chong if you are interested.
At the moment, our team meets on Gold Week Wednesdays during the second half of lunch play, and on Tuesdays during the alternate week, depending on the projects we are working on.
We would love to welcome more students who are ready to learn, share and take action together!
