Term 3: Specialists News

Dream Big:
Dream Big is a class held once a week that teaches the Design and Technologies curriculum. Students in senior classes are exploring sustainable living and are learning that growing your own food is not only good for you, but also for the environment.
Upper primary school students have been learning all about space and have made model rockets, parachutes and flying saucers.
Students in the junior school have been exploring real objects, with a focus on fruit and vegetables. They have been threading pieces of fruit on to skewers and matching two-dimensional fruit and vegetable pictures with real fruit and vegetables.
Art:
We have been very busy learning, creating and having fun in The Arts!
Our primary students have created a variety of artworks, including yarning fire artworks made with paint and natural materials such as sticks and leaves. They have also experimented with colourful painting techniques using letter stamps, brushes and finger painting.
Our secondary students have enjoyed playing musical instruments and expanding their repertoire of favourite songs through song-choice activities and turn-taking.
Our senior secondary students have begun rehearsing a dance with colourful ribbons for their green-screen video project. They have also created a range of beautiful artworks to use as backgrounds in their videos.
Swimming:
After a minor delay at the start of term the swimming program got back to working through the swimming program. This term students have continued to work on their swimming skills, their independence when transitioning to the pool and getting themselves ready for a swim.
Library:
This term, staff and students had lots of fun celebrating Book Week in Week 7. Students and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters and enjoyed a range of fun, book-related activities throughout the week. The library was filled with stories, creativity and excitement as everyone came together to celebrate the joy of reading.
Next term, we are looking forward to exploring many more wonderful books with our students, including Alley Cats, My Dog Bigsy, Pete the Cat books, The Magic Beach, Edward the Emu and The Farm Concert, along with many more exciting stories.
We look forward to another term filled with stories, creativity, fun and opportunities for our students to develop their love of books and reading.
