It has been wonderful walking back into school this week following my holiday and seeing our students, families and staff again. The school has certainly been a busy and happy place, and it has been lovely to hear about all that has been happening during my time away.
I had a wonderful holiday with my husband and son, spending time in Italy and Dubai. We enjoyed some beautiful experiences, great food and plenty of family time. While it was a fantastic trip, it is lovely to be home and, of course, back at school!
A big thank you to Judith and Lauren for stepping up into the Principal and Assistant Principal roles during my absence. They have done a fantastic and very competent job, and I am incredibly grateful for the care, leadership and support they have provided to our students, staff and families while I have been away.

I would like to remind you that from the beginning of next term, our updated home–school communication processes will formally commence.
As previously communicated, there will be no further hard-copy student communication books. Our regular communication between classroom teachers and families will now include:
Classroom timetables will be available on Compass under Community → School Documentation.
Full details of the updated communication processes are outlined in the Home–School Communication Review Report, which is attached bellow.
We offered a number of Compass training sessions for families during this term. We are very happy to provide further training next term for any families who would like some additional support using Compass.
Families are also welcome to visit the Anderson Community Room and use a school computer to access Compass. If you would like to use a school laptop while at school, please speak with our friendly Front Office team and they will be happy to assist.
Thank you again to all families who contributed to our Home–School Communication Review. Your feedback has helped us develop a communication approach that supports regular, meaningful and manageable communication between school and home.
Our planning for 2027 is well underway. We are excited to welcome 14 new students next year, 12 Foundation students, one Primary 2 student and one Senior Secondary student.
With these enrolments, we are planning for 14 classes in 2027, one additional class compared with this year. Our proposed 2027 school structure is:
Our workforce planning is also progressing well. We are pleased that most of our current teaching and Education Support staff will be continuing with us next year, and we have also appointed some new staff who will join the Croydon SDS team in 2027.
We will publish a full list of classroom staff and their roles early next term once our planning and appointments are finalised.

As we reach the end of Term 3, I would like to wish all our students, families and staff a very happy and restful school break.
I hope everyone has the opportunity to slow down, enjoy some time together and do the things that help you recharge. Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard this term, and I encourage everyone to take some well-deserved time for themselves over the break.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4 and another wonderful term of learning, growth and success at Croydon SDS.
Enjoy the break and take care!
