Regional Inter Boys AFL
Our Intermediate Boys AFL team played in the regional finals last month. In the group stages, we came from behind to beat Greensborough SC by 4 points, beat Hazel Glen SC by a few goals and Gladstone Park by a few more putting us into the Grand Final for the first time in PHSC history! The boys put in an exceptional performance against Brent “Boomer” Harvey’s Diamond Valley in the Grand Final. We matched them for physicality and desire to win the footy and went into half time only trailing by a point. The boys fought hard but could not get the points we deserved on the board, and Diamond Valley SC took their opportunities and kicked away to win by 30 points. Considering the size of the schools we played, and two of those being Sport Academy schools it is a huge achievement ! Bernie and were are so proud of the way they played, the character they showed and way they represented our school ! Well done boys and we go again next year !
Regional Senior Boys Soccer
Our promising Senior Boys team comfortably won the Division championship last term and went on to play in the regional finals. There was amazing football on display in what was a very competitive draw. The boys beat Viewbank SC 2-1, before losing to the eventual regional champions Mill Park in controversial fashion. We are extremely proud of the boys and the way they played, unfortunate not to go through to the final !
Regional Year 8 Boys Soccer
The year 8 boys were crowned Division Champions last term and will now compete in the regional finals next week ! Good luck boys !
State XC
Victor Webb placed 71st overall in the 14 boys State XC championships with a time of 12:20 in the 3km ! Huge achievement to qualify for a State Final Victor, well done !
Malik Olukhale
Malik keeps making strides in the football world! Malik made history earlier this month becoming the youngest debutant for the Melbourne Victory Men’s team. Malik also represented Victoria in the recent Emerging Socceroos tournament and continues to make his mark. Malik is currently training with the men’s first team and we are hopeful of an upcoming A-league debut. We are extremely proud of you Malik, keep working hard and achieving your dreams !
