CGSAV Sport

This term has continued to be successful for many individual students and teams with our involvement in CGSAV competitions.  

CGSAV Athletics 

We had perfect weather and great participation for the carnival, with many girls competing in multiple events across the day.   Special mentions to the following girls who placed in the top 3 in their events for their age group: 

Willa Cusick - 3rd 100m, 3rd 200m, 1st High Jump, 3rd Triple Jump 

Greta Zabotto - 1st 100m, 2nd 400m, 2nd 200m, 3rd Shot Put 

Nancy Halpin -  3rd 200m

Josie Wright - 2nd High Jump

Amelia Bodman - 3rd High Jump

Hannah Kelly - 3rd High Jump

Stella Thompson - 2nd Long Jump

Charlotte Jones - 3rd Shot Put

Harriet Cusick - 2nd Triple Jump

CGSAV Cross Country 

It was a typical Melbourne winters day with rain, wind and very cold conditions for the runners.  However, this did not deter them from giving their best efforts on the 3km course.  Our individual top 10 placings for each age group consisted of: 

Junior – 4th Abi Berryman, 8th Harriet Cusick and 9th Sophie Fitzsimon 

Intermediate – 2nd Charlotte Smith, 3rd Willa Cusick and 4th Olivia Nikolarakos 

Senior – 7th Charlotte Berryman and 8th Eloise Robinson 

We finished second place in the Junior age group, first place in Intermediate and second place in Senior.  Overall, we were successful in taking out the Division 2 competition. 

Term 2 will finish with three teams representing the school in AFL on Thursday, 18 June and then another three in Badminton on Thursday, 25 June, before a much well-deserved term break and rest.  Hopefully we can take out some more wins, however, the experience and participation are just as important.
