We are delighted to announce that our annual Junior School Ensembles Concert will be held on Wednesday 12 August at the Ulumbarra Theatre. This much-anticipated event celebrates the achievements of our young musicians and provides an opportunity for students to share the skills, confidence, and enjoyment they have developed through their ensemble participation. We look forward to an evening of inspiring performances that showcase the dedication and enthusiasm of our students.

Tickets will go on sale in mid-July, and families will be notified as soon as booking details become available.

Music education offers benefits that extend far beyond the classroom, supporting children's cognitive, social, and emotional development. We encourage parents to explore the information below from music educator and researcher Anita Collins, who explains the many advantages of learning a musical instrument.

Anita is internationally recognized for her work in translating the scientific research of neuroscientists and psychologists to the everyday parent, teacher and student.

Since 2016, Anita has travelled around the world to interview over 100 neuroscientists and psychologists about music learning and brain development, known as neuromusical research. Anita now uses the research to present, consult and advocate for an updated understanding of how music learning can benefit every child’s development.

For more information, please contact Mrs Laura Dusseljee, Head of Junior School Music.
