Thank You, Hurstville!
A huge thank you to our students, families, staff, volunteers, alumni, local organisations and wider community for making our 150 Year Community Fair such a memorable celebration.
It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate Hurstville Public School’s proud history and the strong community that continues to shape our school today.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed, volunteered, performed, supported, attended and helped make the day possible.

Kindergarten 2027 Enrolments
Is your child starting school in 2027?
Kindergarten enrolments and transition planning are now underway at Hurstville Public School. Families with a child beginning Kindergarten next year are encouraged to begin the enrolment process and learn more about upcoming information sessions, school tours and transition activities.

Pearl Pacific Uniform Shop – New Location
Pearl Pacific Uniform Shop will be moving to a new, more accessible location in Hurstville during the upcoming school holidays.
From Tuesday 6 October 2026, families will be able to visit the new shop at:
Shop 4/107 Forest Road, Hurstville NSW 2220
(located on the corner of The Avenue and Forest Road).
The current shop will close from Saturday 26 September to allow for the relocation and will remain closed during the first week of the school holidays.
Trading hours will remain unchanged:
- Tuesday: 10:00 am–5:00 pm
- Thursday: 10:00 am–5:00 pm
- Saturday: 10:00 am–5:00 pm
Online ordering, delivery to school and home delivery services will also continue as usual.
The new location should provide an even more convenient and accessible uniform service for HPS families.
Year 6 Fundraiser – Pyjama Day: Updated Date
Please note that the Year 6 Fundraiser Pyjama Day is planned to take place on Tuesday 8 September. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
This event was previously advertised in the Belltower for Thursday 20 August. Please disregard this date.

NSW Anti-Bullying Framework and SBSMP Update
This year, the NSW Government introduced the NSW Anti-Bullying Framework, strengthening the way schools work to prevent and respond to bullying. The Framework is built around four key areas: Preventing, Responding, Partnering and Implementing.
In response, we have updated our School Behaviour Support and Management Plan (SBSMP) to further strengthen our approach to preventing and responding to bullying and cyberbullying. The updated plan places a strong focus on prevention, student voice, partnership with families, timely and coordinated responses, ongoing support and monitoring.
Our SBSMP has also been updated to reflect the new NSW Student Code of Conduct, which is centred around three clear expectations for students:
- Respect everyone
- Be responsible
- Be safe
These expectations will increasingly become part of the common language we use across the school as we continue our review of our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework this year.
Families can access the updated School Behaviour Support and Management Plan and the NSW Anti-Bullying Framework below.
We encourage families to familiarise themselves with these resources. Strong partnerships among students, families, and the school are an important part of creating a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for every student.
These updated resources will also be available on our school website later this term.
Hurstville PS - 150 Years in the Media
It’s been wonderful to see Hurstville Public School’s 150th anniversary celebrated beyond our school gates.

These stories capture just a little of the history, pride and community spirit that have shaped Hurstville Public School since 1876.

NSi School Climate Surveys – Term 3
This term, Hurstville Public School will again participate in the NSi School Climate Suite surveys. These surveys help us better understand the experiences of our students, staff and families, including their sense of belonging, wellbeing, engagement and connection to our school.
The Parent and Caregiver Voice Survey will be open from Monday 10 August to Sunday 30 August 2026. We warmly encourage all parents and carers to participate, as your feedback plays an important role in helping us reflect on our current practices and plan for continued school improvement.
Student and staff surveys will take place from Monday 31 August to Sunday 20 September 2026. Students from Kindergarten to Year 2 and Support Unit classes will complete a paper-based survey, while students in Years 3–6 will complete the survey online.
Further information, including how families can access the Parent and Caregiver Voice Survey, will be shared during Week 4. Thank you for taking the time to share your voice and support the ongoing growth of our school.
SchoolBytes - Transition to Family Communication
From Term 3, Hurstville Public School will transition from School eNews to SchoolBytes as our main platform for communicating with families.
This change will help streamline communication for parents and carers, bringing more school information into one platform. For the remainder of Term 2, we will continue using School eNews and SchoolBytes as we prepare for the transition. From Term 3, School eNews will no longer be used.
Thank you for your support as we work towards a more consistent and efficient communication process for our school community.
P&C August Meeting - 25 August 2026
The P&C will hold the next meeting on-site at Hurstville Public School in the main staffroom on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, at 9.15 am.
