Hurstville Public School 150th Anniversary Community Fair: A Spectacular Celebration

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, Hurstville Public School proudly celebrated its 150th Anniversary with a Community Fair that brought together students, alumni, families, and the wider community for a day filled with joy, nostalgia, and community spirit.

Under glorious sunshine, approximately 8,000 attendees gathered on the school grounds to honour a century and a half of educational excellence and community contribution. The event was a wonderful celebration of the school’s rich history, reflecting on its journey and achievements through the years.

A highlight of the day was the vibrant participation of a large number of Hurstville PS alumni, reconnecting and sharing memories alongside current students. The fair showcased incredible performances by our talented students, alongside diverse performance groups representing many parts of the local community. The stage came alive with music, dance, and theatrical arts, engaging audiences of all ages.

The success of the event was made possible by the dedication of 150 volunteers who supported every aspect of the fair on the day, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Families and visitors enjoyed a wide array of activities, including fun-filled rides, an extensive market, and numerous community group stalls. Food lovers were delighted by a variety of culinary offerings that catered to all tastes, making the event a true feast for the senses.

The Hurstville Public School 150th Anniversary Community Fair was not only a memorable milestone for the school but also a testament to the strength and vibrancy of the local community. It underscored the school’s ongoing commitment to fostering connections and celebrating its heritage while looking forward to a bright future.

August Parents and Citizens Association Meeting - Tuesday 25 August - 9:15am in the school staffroom

Items of on the upcoming agenda will include the logistics supporting the Fathers' Day gift stall and the school's Fathers' Day Afternoon Games celebration.
