VALE – Alison (Ali) Birch
The WA College of Agriculture Harvey community is deeply saddened by the passing of Alison (Ali) Birch.
Ali served as a Technical Officer at the College for ten years, from 1999 to 2009, working within the sheep section. During her time at the College, she made a lasting impact on both staff and students through her dedication, knowledge, and commitment to agricultural education.
Ali was a respected role model who shared her expertise and passion for the livestock industry. She encouraged and inspired countless students, particularly those developing their shearing skills. Her patience, practical knowledge, and willingness to mentor young people helped shape their confidence and abilities.
Her extensive farming knowledge and commitment to the College, especially within the sheep enterprise, provided invaluable support to staff and students alike. Ali's contribution to the College community will be remembered with great appreciation and respect.
On behalf of the Harvey Ag community, we extend our sincere condolences to John and all members of the Birch and Hayes families during this sad time.
