TRADES

Our Year 12 students are now midway through their final term at the College. As they work towards completing their courses and projects and planning life beyond school, this should remain a key focus. Across the four trade areas of Automotive, Metals, Furnishings, and Construction, students are busy finalising a wide range of practical projects and assessments.
With apprenticeship recruitment now in full swing, students are encouraged to take the time to prepare their resumes, explore career opportunities, and submit applications. Trade staff are available to assist students with advice on apprenticeships, applications, and career pathways.
Year 12 Incursion – Mineral Resources
Students recently had the opportunity to meet with Emily Pettit and representatives from Mineral Resources, who visited the College to discuss their 2027 apprenticeship intake.
The team provided valuable insights into the company and the range of apprenticeship opportunities available within the mining industry.
The visit gave students a greater understanding of the skills and attributes employers are seeking, while also highlighting the opportunities available within the resources sector.
We thank Emily and the Mineral Resources team for taking the time to share their knowledge and experiences with our students.
After School Metals
Our after-school Metals program continues each Tuesday, with a strong focus on supporting Year 12 students to complete their major projects and assessment requirements before the end of the year. These sessions provide students with additional workshop time, allowing them to refine their skills and finalise project work.
