Br Gerry Faulkner Award

For Young Writers and Illustrators

In the past few weeks, we have launched our annual Br Gerry Faulkner Award for Young Writers and Illustrators. Students across the College in years 4 to 12 are invited to submit a piece of creative writing. 

This year’s award encompasses three main categories, including reading (short story or novel chapter), rhyming (poetry or verse) and illustrating (graphic novel or picture book). The award encourages students to further the skills they have learned in class and create a piece of original literature that builds on their interest in writing as a creative output.

Students may wish to work on their entries over the holiday break and can submit their piece to either the Junior or Senior Library upon their return. Entries are due by Friday July 16th and winners will be announced early in Term 3 at a special morning tea.
