It continues to be a busy term with many events and activities happening in various parts of the Junior School. Thank you to our families for their continued support. I really enjoy the way the community comes together to support and celebrate our girls. This evening's Teddy Bear Picnic will be a great example of this!
Parent–Teacher Interviews
Our Parent–Teacher Interviews were very positive, with strong attendance across all year levels. It was pleasing to hear from so many families that they feel well‑informed about their child’s progress and confident in the learning partnership we continue to build.
District Swimming Success
We were excited to have our our first district sporting event of the year with an outstanding performance at the District Swimming Carnival. Our team placed 4th overall and proudly took home 1st place in the Population Trophy, a fantastic testament to the effort, spirit, and determination of our swimmers. We have some students who will be attending regionals as well. Stay tuned for more information on that event.
International Women’s Day
Last week we gathered as a Junior School to recognise and celebrate International Women’s Day. Our Co‑Captains, Miranda and Annabelle, led the occasion with maturity and purpose, sharing thoughtful reflections on leadership, equality, and the importance of lifting one another up. Their words were inspiring for students and staff alike.
Welcoming Our Future Junior School Girls
I have had the pleasure of meeting with each of the ELC 4 year old girls over the last two weeks. I have a few more visits to go, but it has been delightful to see them draw a picture for me that I have placed on front door, livening up the space. I have really enjoyed hearing from the parents about their daughter and the sense of anticipation of going into Prep. Exciting things happening in this space!
NAPLAN
NAPLAN has also been underway this week. Despite a few technical glitches with the platform, students and staff handled everything calmly and capably. Testing has run smoothly overall, and our students approached each session with focus and resilience. This will continue to early next week. It will be a few months before we receive the results to share with parents.
Open morning – Friday 20 March
A gentle reminder that parents are invited to visit their daughter’s classroom on Friday 20 March from 8.30am – 9.00am. This informal opportunity will provide parents with an insight into what is happening in their daughter’s class. So please come along and visit the classroom! If you have more than one daughter in the school, you are welcome to move between classes.
