The Heat is On………☀️💦🌻
All wicking beds (self-watering reservoirs) are full of fresh produce, herbs overflowing in the wicking wine barrels and sunflowers surprising all on a daily basis. Roses are flourishing and wooden benches have been rejuvenated and reinstated. We have two arty, iron windmills created by ex-students and wooden cable spools/tree stump seating to be collected/arranged.
Next major steps will be the levelling of sections of The Garden area, reticulation throughout and laying of turf. Chapel flowers will border the area, as well as perfumed natives. Further wicking beds will be installed to bridge the yarning circle and the garden, to be filled with bush tucker natives and a Quandong tree – a native peach tree.
As always, huge thanks to Lauren Johnson and Claire Hughes for keeping an eye on the garden over the school break and to the maintenance and grounds teams for all their ongoing support.
