👷VET Pathways & WPL

VET and WPL News

Welcome to the 2026 school year! We’re delighted to have over 90 students participating in VET programs across a wide range of industries - from Business and Education Support to Marine Studies, Fitness, TV/Film, Tourism, Hairdressing, Nursing and more. It’s wonderful to see so many students building their future pathways while still at Mazenod.

This year, we also celebrate two students who have commenced School‑based Apprenticeships. These programs allow students to begin their apprenticeship while completing Years 11 and 12, gaining valuable experience and earning a wage. Once they graduate, they’ll have just two years left to complete their qualification.

Alongside this, 50 students are enrolled in Certificate II programs in Furnishings and Engineering, as well as Certificate II/III in IT and Digital Technologies. We’re also excited to introduce Certificate III in Business as an additional option. All of these qualifications help students develop practical skills, understand real workplace routines and prepare for apprenticeships, traineeships or further study.

A friendly reminder that attendance and communication are essential for success in VET. Students must attend all classes and contact their facilitator or teacher if they are unable to be present. Missing classes without communication may affect assessment completion. Please also notify me directly of any absences. Attendance at school events are compulsory.

Industry and Enterprise Program

In Week 8, students in the Industry and Enterprise Program will begin their first work placements across a variety of industries. Work experience is a valuable part of their learning journey, giving students the chance to apply and extend their classroom skills under the guidance of experienced employers.

We wish all students the very best and look forward to visiting them on-site.
