Principal Post

Dear families,
What a fantastic House Sports Day!
Congratulations to Sophie Sullivan and all the staff who supported the day and helped make it such a success. We survived the heat and wind and still managed to finish in style! A special congratulations to Gold House on their win!
As we head towards the Melbourne Cup long weekend, my famiily have a small share in the Melbourne Cup contender - JuJa Kibo! It should be lots of fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.
A reminder that Monday and Tuesday are student-free days, so please enjoy the extra-long weekend. Take the opportunity to rest, recharge and refresh after a busy term.
Thank you again for all your hard work, energy and commitment to our SJV community.
Take care and enjoy the extra days off!

What to do when you are absent?
Under the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Attendance Policy 2026, parents and carers have a legal responsibility to ensure their child attends school and to promptly notify the school of any absence.
We ask that you telephone the school office or put into Nforma as early as possible on the morning of your child's absence and provide a reason for their non-attendance.
The school also has a duty of care to ensure that all students are accounted for. When we have not received notification of an absence, staff are required to follow up with parents or carers on the same day. If we are unable to make contact, we may need to contact emergency contacts or take further action in accordance with our child safety procedures.
It is important to understand that notifying the school of your child's absence is a parental responsibility and should not rely on the school having to contact you to establish your child's whereabouts.
Remembrance Day Badges for Sale
Remembrance Day badges will be available for purchase before and after school.
We invite families to support this important cause by purchasing a badge and helping our students remember and honour the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country.
All money raised will go towards supporting returned service personnel.
