Orienteering
What a great day the Years 3 to 6 had at Maroondah for the Orienteering. As a school, we had so many high achievers and we were awarded the most successful school on the day.
We have a great set-up for practising orienteering at school and so many students successfully completed our school courses during huff n puff time.
"Last Friday we went to orienteering, I got first by 30 minutes, and I also won the maths maze." Will
"It is a game/competition where you run either in singles or pairs and you have a map and you try to find the correct flags with the right number on it. If you want you can just talk with your friends or take it seriously.
I took it seriously because I was trying hard."
I got all of them correct(17/17) and I finished in 57.55 minutes.
I came on the leaderboard, I don't know which place I came though and won out of the grade 5 girls(singles).
"The students from Upper Yarra SC organised a game where you have to find coins on the ground everywhere, well, the big kids try to shoot water at you with a water gun and I found lots of them." Arlo
Swimming
Congratulations to all our students on their achievements during the 2025 swimming program. As a general observation, all students made great progress over the two weeks in water confidence, safety, technique and endurance. Great effort to all!
"Swimming with the St Joseph's school went swimming. It was really fun. First year 3\4 , then 5\6 and finally 1\2 & preps I loved it a lot." Liliana
"When I got to school, we got on the bus. I was excited to swim. When we arrived, we went inside the pools and started swimming. The teachers arrived, and we entered the cold pool in week 2. The last day was really fun, we went on the bonus pillow, then we went to the small pool after the small pool, it was over till next year." Blake P
