Dear parents

Courtenay Gardens in conjunction with Koori Kids are delighted to announce this year’s exciting NAIDOC initiative.

The aim of the NAIDOC School Initiatives is to provide a greater understanding and awareness on the importance and respect of NAIDOC Week, Indigenous Culture and Reconciliation. The initiatives are open to all primary students (both Indigenous & non-Indigenous). Prep to 2 students will be able to enter a colouring in competition and the grade 3-6’s are encouraged to enter a poem writing competition. The winning students will be awarded some fantastic prizes provided by Koori Kids. 😊

As NAIDOC week falls during the school holidays in July, we are going to incorporate the initiative into reconciliation week which is the 27th May to the 3rd June. Competition sheets will be handed out during this time.

Entries will need to be submitted to classroom teachers by 17th June.

We look forward to the Courtenay Gardens students participating in this wonderful initiative.
