Year 1/2 Learning Reflection
Weeks 5-6

Students have been using bundling sticks to learn about Place Value. We know that when we have10 ones they need to be re-grouped into1bundle of ten. We have also been practising writing our teen numbers.

Reading and sharing books with our friends is an important part of our learning and developing a love of reading.

Meditation is part of our Social and Emotional Learning. It is a great time to relax and listen to our bodies.

We have been practising our Maths fluency.

Harmony Day is coming up and we love practising our song and dance!

The Grade 2s have been busy bees! We welcomed our families in for our parent teacher interviews last week, where our students excitedly shared with their families what they are most proud of (so far) in Year 2.
We have been spending lots of time finalising our text, Under The Southern Cross, where students have shared special moments they share with their families in under our night sky - they have even learnt some new words, 'sweeping' being one of them. Look at these sentences they've written about the sweeping views! We have also been working on expanding our sentences, as well as changing the context of the sentence by using our 'special words' because, but and so.
In maths, we have spent some time learning how to add and subtract three digit numbers. Students are thriving in this area and we are very impressed that they are demonstrating so much success in this area.
As we finalise our Systemic Knowledge unit on Human Biology, we are finalising projects of our inside qualities and outside qualities. We are very excited to have these on display very soon, and move into our Geography unit next week.
We have also been very excitedly practicing our dances and songs for our upcoming Harmony Day Block Party, we can't wait to see you there!
