Year 3 to Year 6
As we move towards the end of another busy and rewarding month, there are many wonderful achievements and opportunities to celebrate across our Junior School.
First Holy Communion
We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all students who will be celebrating their First Holy Communion on Sunday, 30 August at St Francis Xavier Catholic Parish. This is a very special milestone in their faith journey, and we pray that this sacred occasion is filled with joy, love, and blessings for each child and their family. We thank our families, parish community, and staff who have supported the students in preparing for this important sacrament.
Primary School Choir Success!
Congratulations to our Primary School Choir on the incredible success they have achieved recently. Their performance at One Big Voice was truly outstanding, joining thousands of students from across the metropolitan area at the RAC Arena in a spectacular celebration of music and community. The choir also received an exceptional report for their performance at the Catholic Education Performing Arts Festival, a testament to their dedication, talent, and commitment to excellence. The feedback from adjudicators was overwhelmingly positive, praising the choir’s musicality, confidence, and polished presentation. We are immensely proud of every choir member and grateful to the staff who have supported and nurtured their talents. These remarkable achievements reflect the hard work, passion, and spirit of our students, and we congratulate them on representing our school so proudly.
Year 5 Leadership Opportunity
Our Year 5 students recently enjoyed a visit from a special guest representing the Serpentine Jarrahdale Council, who shared information about the SJ Junior Council Leadership Program for 2027. Students were inspired to learn about the opportunity to represent young people within the local community and contribute to meaningful initiatives and projects.
As part of the selection process, interested students are required to submit a short video via Seesaw (maximum length: 2.5 minutes) addressing the following questions:
What makes you a good leader?
What will you contribute to the SJ Junior Council team?
Why should you be chosen to represent Salvado Catholic College?
What is one thing you would like to see changed or added to our local community?
We look forward to seeing our students showcase their leadership potential, creativity, and passion for serving others.
Year 6 Asian-Themed Performance
Our Year 6 students recently entertained Junior School students, staff, and families with a humorous and engaging performance showcasing their learning about Asia. Through a series of creative and informative presentations, students highlighted the many attractions, landmarks, cultural experiences, and travel opportunities found across the diverse continent of Asia. They also explored important connections between Asia and Australia, including trade, tourism, culture, and global partnerships. The audience was impressed by the students' confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm as they shared their knowledge in an enjoyable and memorable way. Congratulations to our Year 6 students and staff for bringing this wonderful learning experience to life and celebrating the importance of Asia's role in our interconnected world.
Welcome Practicum Teachers
We warmly welcome our practicum teachers Misss Amy McGlone and Miss Olivia Barjaktarevic who have joined the Junior School this term. Working alongside Ms Branche in Year 4 and Mrs Cook in Year 3, they have quickly formed positive relationships with students and become valued members of our learning community. We thank them for their enthusiasm and commitment and wish them every success as they continue their professional journey at Salvado Catholic College for the remainder of the term.
