Messages from our Librarian - Mrs Adams

What we've been up to this term!

This term we have been looking at nonfiction books and learning about the world. We were thoroughly involved in researching and learning about Australia's Dinosaur. I happened to visit the place where it was discovered in Western Queensland. What a fascinating piece of history that is! Children found that it is one of the biggest dinosaurs in the world. It is as long as a basketball court and as high as a 2 story building and it only eats plants. It is called Australotitan Cooperensis because it was found beside the Cooper River at Eromanga. It lived about 95 million years ago. If only I could take the children to visit the Natural Museum at Eromanga???? It is a bit far and expensive.!

Kinder and Stage 1 have been reading Narrative Fiction books. These are fiction books which are based on true stories.

Stage 2 and 3 are beginning to research a subject which they are keen to learn more about. They will then have to educate the rest of the class with the facts they have learnt. I can not wait to see what some of the subjects are going to be. Already I am intrigued by some of the topics.

Missing Library Books

As we draw closer to Christmas please encourage children to find all missing library books. There are many that have not been returned and I am sure they will turn up with an extra big look.
