Principal's Report

Thoughts from our Principal - Mrs Casey Chard

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,

We recently received the results from the School Satisfaction Surveys. A consistent theme across survey data collected from students, staff and parents is the immense sense of community and quality learning across St Josephs. Below are a selection of quotes from students from Years 3 to 6 telling us what they most like about our school.

  • It gives you the opportunity to learn and grow with other peers while making memories on the way
  • I really like how supportive the staff in my school is and how helpful they are.
  • I like this school because whether my close friends are here or not, everyone else is kind to me and lets me play with them.
  • I know where I can go if I feel overwhelmed or need time to myself.
  • How safe the teachers make me feel.
  • Our staff members are always kind and respectful, every student values others and is always listened to. The learning is great, with amazing students to help you with that.
  • I like how I know my friends are true and if I support them they will support me, I love waking up and getting to see another school day with my friends.
  • If I need help there is always a teacher that can help me with that certain thing.
  • We have good supplies and many different opportunities. The teachers set goals for our learning achievements and we have changed the school to be at top level.
  • People are kind and sweet. Teachers are kind and helpful.
  • The teachers are loving and caring as well as students and I feel safe.
  • The teachers and my friends always have my back and give lots of opportunities for me to learn.
  • I have great supporters and I get to see my friends 5 days a week. I also enjoy band lessons.
  • That the students help me when I need help and my teacher always makes sure that I learn every day.

And one of my favourites…the chooks!

When considering areas for improvement, a number of students expressed a desire for more variety in playground equipment and break-time activities. As we plan for 2026, we will explore ways to broaden the range of options available to students during  break time. Unfortunately, we can’t put a huge pool next to the football field, increase playtime or allow tackle footy!

In the next newsletter I will share a summary of the parent comments, which are really encouraging.

May God bless you and your family.
