We have reached Week 8 of Term 3, and our school continues to be a hive of activity, with students and staff embracing the many opportunities this term has to offer.
Staffing Update
Today we farewelled Teagan at a morning tea. It is always with mixed emotions when we share news of staff moving on. We congratulate Teagan on her successful appointment to Wollert Secondary College. Teagan will expand her skills into a secondary school setting and will provide a familiar face to many of our Year 6 students who transition to Wollert for Year 7.
We wish Teagan all the best at the new school and for this next step in her career.
Cashing in ‘Caught Ya Cards’ Reward
This week Josh, Gloreen and Huntah of 3NJ chose to use their rewards to become “Principal for a Session”. The priorities they wanted to focus on where attendance, checking in on teachers checking on students and playground inspections. We covered all of these things and enjoyed a hot chocolate together.
Book Week
Once again the annual Book Week Parade was a spectacular celebration of imagination and storytelling, with around 200 parents and family members joining us for one of the most exciting events on the school calendar.
The 2026 theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’, came to life as the students (and some parents!) transformed into a colourful celebration of books and imagination. From beloved characters and magical creatures to superheroes, minions and storybook favourites, our students and staff embraced the spirit of Book Week with incredible creativity. The effort, enthusiasm and imagination on display were simply outstanding!
Students across all year levels embraced the spirit of Book Week, putting incredible thought and creativity into their costumes. Many classes also took the opportunity to explore the stories behind their favourite characters, discovering themes of friendship, courage, imagination and curiosity along the way.
Our staff embraced the Book Week spirit, with many joining forces to create fun group themes. From the Hungry Caterpillar, Greek Goddesses – Greek Myths (Year 4 team English VLP book) Where’s Wally, Little Red Riding Hood to Dr Seuss, there was plenty of creativity on display. You may also have spotted Jess, Ashlee, Meredith, Angela and I bringing the much-loved Dear Zoo story to life!

A Visit to Year 4 Camp! Jess and I had the pleasure of visiting our Year 4 students at camp! We joined in on some fun games, spent time catching up with the students and stayed for dinner, including the very popular chicken schnitzels! It was wonderful to see everyone having such a fantastic time and making special camp memories.
DASH (Dynamic, Active, Safe, Healthy) LEADERSHIP
DASH aims to give young people the tools to strengthen their social and emotional skills, which are recognised as key factors in building positive mental health.
Our leaders have been working all term, using active games and discussion to generate an idea for a community project. The projects were then presented to community organisations... Police, emergency services and community agencies. These services participate in the program as community role models.
This Wednesday our Year 6 Dash Leadership group showcased their final presentations. Congratulations to the “Racism Rangers” who will receive the $1,000 funding to be put towards actioning the project to increase school safety and belonging.
Buildings & Grounds update
Sandpit
The new sandpit has been installed, and students are enjoying the new location near the nature play. We are currently arranging the new shade sails and hope for this to be erected as soon as possible.
The Austin School
As previously communicated, The Austin School’s Social Education Program (SEP), is to be delivered onsite at Epping Views Primary School, a separate campus with designated buildings and playground. This initiative represents a significant opportunity to support student wellbeing, engagement and inclusion within the Epping community. Students are referred to The Austin School through the Infant Child Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS), with the program providing a term-based educational program focused on social and emotional learning, alongside the development of school readiness skills. The program is designed to meet The Austin School students’ individualised needs through targeted support in a small group setting, helping students to build confidence, strengthen connections and experience success in their learning journey.
The School Council met on Tuesday night and provided feedback on the draft Memorandum of Understanding to ensure that the agreement between the two schools covers all necessary conditions. You may have noticed that works are continuing the Austin School site on Dunolly St.
Stand Up Program
The parent session was postponed to Monday 24th August due to presenter illness. We had 29 adults and 12 students attend, as well as our 17 Year 5 SUP Leaders. The leaders were fantastic on the night and worked with Dr Zach Greig to present to the parents about the impacts of bullying and their plans to make a difference at Epping Views. We are excited for the leaders to begin teaching the Year 2 and 3 students about how they can stand up to bullying.
Our engagement with the stand-up project is one of the ways we are working towards strengthening our culture of inclusion and respect and working towards our Annual Improvement Plan goal to:
Evacuation Drill
On Wednesday 26th August we practiced our offsite emergency management evacuation drill to Mansfield Park. It is part of the Department of Education requirements and our ongoing commitment to providing a safe environment to practice evacuation procedures. The drill was very successful, with the help of our staff who supported students to move calmly and respectfully to the park. The drill took approximately 20 minutes to complete, and we have reviewed our procedures and continue to make improvements.
Parent / Carer / Guardian Opinion Survey
Please complete the Parent/Carer/Guardian Opinion Survey. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we have encouraged all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. The link has been posted to all families on Compass on the of 18th August and will close 18th September. We have currently received 13 responses to the survey.
Next week we participate in R U OK Day on Friday 11th September – we invite students to join the staff and wear a splash of yellow.

Hats are Back!
A reminder that students require their school hat in line with our school Sun Protection Policy. Please support your child to have their hat every day and ensure it is clearly labelled with their name. Students who are not wearing appropriate protective clothing or hats will be asked to use available areas of shade when outdoors or a suitable area protected from the sun.
2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolment applications closed recently. All schools follow the statewide enrolment timeline. Families will be soon be provided with the enrolment confirmation letter. We are now beginning to plan classes for 2027 so if you are yet to put in your application or know anyone that hasn’t, please do this immediately so that our planning is accurate. Information about Prep transition sessions will be shared soon.
Are you moving on in 2027?
We are now well and truly in the planning phase for 2027 and as such it is important that we have an accurate indication of our student numbers for next year. If you are planning on relocating at the end of the year or leaving us for any other reasons, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can best support the transition of your child to another school setting.
