District Cross Country Wrap Up

Last Friday 23rd May, 53 students from Grades 3-6 braved some early winter conditions and headed to Ruffey Lake Park for the District Cross Country event. While the morning was a little drizzly, come running time the rain had disappeared and made way for pretty good conditions. 

Many of our students have been honing their running skills since the House Cross Country in Week 2, and it was great to see this practice put to the test against other great runners from the area. 

It was fantastic watching our students represent Donvale in such a positive manner, and teachers from other schools noted how nice their encouragement (cheering and chanting) for each other was!

A special mention to the below students who finished in the top 12 for their age group, and have been invited to the Division Cross Country event on Tuesday, 3rd June at Yarra Glen Racecourse.

A special mention to our student teacher helpers on the day, who were an incredible help in ensuring the day ran smoothly. And also a huge shoutout to our work experience helper Robyn, who went above and beyond in making sure the students had a great day. 

Well done to all participants and parents who come along to help out and support - and good luck to those progressing to Division.
