Grade 3

Reading
Over the past two weeks, Grade 3 students have been deeply engaged in reading Charlotte’s Web as part of our comprehension learning. Students have been practising important skills such as making inferences, using text clues, asking and answering questions, and identifying key facts and details from both fiction and nonfiction texts. Alongside the novel, students explored factual information about pigs through videos and informative articles, which helped build their background knowledge and strengthen their understanding of the story. In class, students participated in rich discussions during pause points, shared ideas with partners, and used evidence from the text to describe characters like Wilbur, Fern, and Charlotte. They also created fact pages using clear headings, labelled diagrams, and new vocabulary such as habitat, features, adapt, and nutrients.
