I think I always start with a line about the weather, so to keep up with tradition, I can’t believe winter is almost here! As you might already know, we love taking the students outside to play even in winter. Please send your child in with gum boots, a raincoat and a woollen jumper, especially if they are in the early years.
As always, we have had a busy Term Two. The grade 5/6 students went on camp Toolangi. We had our Steiner celebration day, where we showcased our amazing Steiner program and had the pleasure of listening to Andrew Hill from Steiner Education Australia (SEA), as well as to a panel of teachers, students, and family members from Collingwood College sharing their passion for Steiner education.
Our Main program students have been working closely with Hip Hop songwriter Izzy Brown, working on writing and performing their own Hip Hop song as part of their Performing Arts curriculum.
We are super excited to have Desley back after her long service leave. Annie-Rose did a wonderful job with the grade 3/4s in running a fun, educational garden program, and Desley is now teaching the vital skills of cooking and kitchen safety.
Our new Prep Wednesday Nature Detective program has been going exceptionally well. Our Prep Steiner and Main program students come together for an adventure to the local parks, learning about nature and their environment, as well as team-building skills. Slowly, we are building their stamina and hoping to stay out longer and venture out further.
Please make the time to go into the canteen area and have a look at the lost and found. There are many jumpers and jackets, which will be taken to the op shop soon.
I like to take this time to thank Alison Seabrook for her time, passion and mentorship around all things Steiner. As some of you may know, Alison is leaving Collingwood College to embark on a new and exciting chapter in her career. I have had the pleasure of working alongside Alison for many years, and she has played a vital role in supporting and coaching me regarding the Steiner curriculum and philosophy. Alison will be missed by many. Her passion for teaching Steiner, her care for her students and families, is like no other. Alison, on behalf of the Collingwood Community, we wish you the very best and thank you for all that you have done.
We do have some upcoming events and important dates. Please pencil in Sunday, June 14th. Once again, the school has volunteered to run the Reclink Community Cup ‘Kids area’. We have been a part of this charity event for three years and have loved giving back to the community. This event also allows us to market our school and be seen by the local community. If you have a couple of hours to spare on the day to support one of the stalls, or bake something small and delicious, we can sell it at our Kids café. Please volunteer your time. For more information, please see the posters displayed around the school or contact me for more information.

Outside Hours School Care (OHSC) - Bookings Now Open for TheirCare
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to announce that the booking calendar for Collingwood College TheirCare is now open.
To manage your bookings, kindly log in to your parent portal and access your booking calendar located at the bottom of your dashboard. Please ensure that your account is complete for the calendar to appear.
Additionally, we would like to provide you with an update regarding your payments and childcare subsidy.
Typically, we charge your out-of-pocket fees at the end of each week (in arrears). However, as Collingwood College TheirCare is a new service with us, there is a transition period for Centrelink to process the subsidy transfer.
Centrelink is currently in the process of transferring the service, and until this transition is complete, we are unable to determine the exact amount of out-of-pocket charges. Therefore, we anticipate commencing charges once Centrelink has processed the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
Once the transition is finalised, you will receive a system-generated email prompting you to log into your Centrelink account (via MyGov) to confirm your details for the service, ensuring that the subsidy is correctly applied to your account.
We wanted to inform you of this process in advance, should you be expecting a direct debit or enrolment notice.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Support Team during office hours at 1300 072 410.
Warm regards,
The Team at TheirCare
