From Our Principals

Scoresby PS hosted the term 2 -Knox Network Principals Forum
Last Thursday, we hosted the Knox Principals Network Meeting at Scoresby Primary School, providing us with a wonderful opportunity to showcase our school. Mrs Rheumer delivered a presentation to the visiting principals, highlighting the many programs, curriculum priorities, and extra opportunities available at SPS. When all of the day-to-day learning experiences and initiatives are brought together, it really demonstrates just how much is happening across our school.
Our wonderful school captains opened the morning with the SPS Acknowledgement of Country, setting a warm and respectful tone for the meeting.
Throughout the day, many principals complimented the work and achievements of our staff and students. We are proud of the great things happening at SPS, and it was lovely to have these recognised and acknowledged by others.
David Attenborough Day
Last Friday this remarkable man, Sir David Attenborough turned 100. It was fitting for us all to stop and celebrate this extraordinary achievement and note the lifetime work Mr. Attenborough has done for nature and wildlife.
David Attenborough certainly didn’t set out to be a celebrity; he started off with great curiosity about the natural world and then went on from there to make documentaries and become the face of saving the planet. Sir David Attenborough is a real-life perfect example of how one person can make a difference, driven by his dedication and passion.
Scoresby PS kids had a terrific day with the planned activities in their levels all focusing on animals, the environment, nature and taking notice of their surroundings.
Education Week
This year’s theme for Education Week is ~ Showcasing your School. We have lots to celebrate and show at Scoresby PS. We hope you can come along to one of our Open Sessions to see our fabulous school in action!
SRC NEWS
Our SRC committee met again this week and discussed two fundraisers for this term. They will be raising funds for toys purchases for our new HEART garden.
In the new garden renovation, we are installing shop fronts made by the Rowville Men’s Shed for free play. The intention with the fundraisers this term is to purchase equipment that can go outside with the kids so they can play shops. We will also be having a dedicated garden bed for digging.
