From The REC

Dear Lord,

Give all students a thirst for knowledge, wisdom and understanding.

May their hearts be ready to learn this term.

Open their ears, hands and hearts to receive your gifts and help them to use these gifts for the good of all.

Keep our students, families and staff in your loving care Lord.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen

Free Hat Friday Fundraiser

Our school loved fundraising for Mission Month throughout October by participating in Free Hat Fridays! Over the course of three Fridays, we raised over $570 for Catholic Missions!

A huge thank you to our families for their generosity and support in helping to build a more just world for people everywhere.

Celebration for Our Octogenarians

On Wednesday, 29th October, our Kindergarten students treated our Parish community to a special performance. They visited the Presbytery during the Octogenarian Mass to sing the children’s hymn Jesus' Loves Me, This I Know.

The parishioners were also treated to a lovely hand made card and chocolate gift from the students to wish them a wonderful day.

Infants Students and Fr Paul

During the week, Father Paul met with each Infants class in the church to explore the sacrament of Baptism. He explained its significance to the students, who then enjoyed role-playing the baptism of a baby, taking on the roles of the priest, family members and godparents.

The children thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on experience. Thank you, Fr Paul, for sharing your time and knowledge with us!

Year of Jubilee

2025 is a Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church.

A Jubilee Year is traditionally proclaimed by the Universal Church every 25 years. It is a particular year set aside to encourage the faithful to embark on pilgrimages, to repent of their sins and forgive the sins of others, and to renew a focus on spiritual life.

The theme is Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis has invited Catholics to renew our hope and discover a vision that can "restore access to the fruits of the earth to everyone". We are also invited to rediscover a spirituality of God's creation in which we understand ourselves as "pilgrims on the earth" rather than masters of the world.

You will see this logo often this year...

Gallery Image

The logo symbolises unity and fraternity among all of humanity, with four stylised figures from different corners of the earth embracing each other. The leading figure holds a cross, representing faith and hope. The rough waves beneath the figures symbolise life's challenges, emphasising the need for hope in difficult times. The elongated lower part of the cross forms an anchor, a well-known symbol of hope. This image depicts the pilgrimage as a communal journey towards the cross, which reaches out dynamically to offer presence and hope.
