Principal's Report
Term 4, Week 5

Dear St FX Parents and Carers,
Kindergarten Transition Sessions
On Thursday 30th October, we celebrated the graduation of our Kindergarten Transition students. It was wonderful to welcome in the families of these students for entertainment provided by the students and then conclude with a graduation ceremony. A special thanks must go to teachers Kym Capp, Sonja Leitch, Maree Nott and Alex Conroy as well as their support staff for their preparation and smooth-running of this year’s Kindergarten Transition Program.
Federation Farm Parent Representative
The Narrabri Federation Farm is a unique community asset and share farm that provides financial and educational support to the local Narrabri schools. The St Francis Xavier’s Parent Representative on the committee is a crucial liaison. This representative helps uphold the farm’s objective as an educational resource and confirms the financial returns are used to enhance the overall learning environment and student opportunities within our school community.
Commitment: one meeting per school term (outside work hours)
Please contact me if you would like any further information or interested in filling this position.
School Advisory Committee
The School Advisory Committee is an important parent committee for our school community. The group provides parental perspectives on a range of different strategic plans for the school. Membership is for two years and members are not able to be re-elected for any more than two consecutive terms. We are currently seeking 3 new members for 2026 to replace outgoing committee members. Please contact me if you would like any further information on becoming involved in this important parent committee.
Colour Run
Registrations are still open for students for our 2025 Colour Run, being held this Friday 14th November. All funds raised from the Colour Run will go towards school marquees. This event is generously organised by the volunteers on our P&F Committee. If you are available to assist in any way on the day please contact Mrs Gould in the school office.
Excursions
What an adventure our Year 6 students and supervising staff had in Canberra! It’s always a wonderful opportunity to visit our nation’s capital and participate in some unique activities. From all reports (and the look on the tired faces), everyone made the most of their time away. Some highlights were the Australian Institute of Sport, Australian War Memorial, swimming pool and bus karaoke!
I wish to thank Jessica Craig, Lucy Suttor, Mark Rottger and Erica Maslen for volunteering to travel away and take on this huge responsibility.
Have a great week!
Mrs Michelle O’Connor
