A moment to give gratitude for our community

As Term 2 comes to a close, we pause to reflect with gratitude on the many blessings, achievements, and moments of growth that have shaped our Junior School community throughout the term.

It has been a busy and rewarding term with our students continuing to embrace opportunities to learn, discover, and grow as children of God. From engaging classroom experiences and creative pursuits to sporting achievements, acts of service, and moments of kindness, our students have demonstrated our Gospel values through their compassion, resilience, respect, and care for one another.

Throughout the term, we have been reminded of the strength and beauty of our Catholic school community. Through prayer, liturgy, learning, and daily interactions, we continue to nurture a culture where students are encouraged to recognise the presence of Christ in themselves and in others. We are grateful for the dedication of our staff, the partnership of our families, and the enthusiasm of our students who contribute so much to the spirit and life of our school.

As we prepare for the upcoming two-week holiday break, I extend my heartfelt thanks to our students, staff, and families for their continued commitment, support, and partnership. Your generosity and involvement help create a welcoming, faith-filled community where every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to flourish.

Parent-Teacher Conversations and Reports

Reports are now available through PAM. Parent-Teacher Conversations will be held from 8.30am to 6pm on Monday, July 27 (Week 1 of Term 3). Families are invited to book appointments through PAM to discuss their child’s progress and celebrate their learning achievements. 

Teachers available for meetings include:

• Prep - Mr Farrell
• Year 1 - Ms Abate
• Year 2 - Miss Banks
• Year 3 - Miss Daun
• Year 5 - Mrs Coleman
• Year 6 - Mr Arkley and Miss Pugsley
• Music - Mr Hope (8:30 am to 12:30 pm)

Please note:

• There will be no PE, Japanese, Art, or Year 4 teacher appointments available on this day.
• Part-time staff will not be available during these sessions. Families are welcome to contact these teachers directly to arrange an alternative meeting time if required.

• Our Year 4 teacher, Tom Beard, will be unavailable for Parent-Teacher Conversations on Monday 27 July. Early in Term 3, we will communicate alternative arrangements for Year 4 interviews. 

   

Winter Woolies Appeal 2026

This year, our Mini Vinnies group, made up of students in Years 5 and 6, will lead the Winter Woolies Appeal in support of the St Vincent de Paul Society. We warmly invite families to donate new or clean, good-quality warm clothing for men, women and children. Suggested items include beanies, gloves, jackets, jumpers, socks, scarves and other winter woolies.

If your family has the capacity to donate, items can be placed in the House-coloured bins located by the gate each morning from 8:20 am. The bins will remain available for the remainder of Term 2 and during Week 1 of Term 3, including Parent–Teacher Conversation Day.

Behaviour Expectations Matrix

Over the past term, Junior School staff have been working hard during staff meetings to refine, teach and embed our Junior School Behaviour Expectations Matrix. This work is now very much part of our daily language, with staff and students living the matrix each day through explicit teaching, reminders, modelling and reteaching when needed.

So far, classes have focused on the classroom expectations linked to I am respectful, I am responsible and I am safe. These expectations help students understand what positive behaviour looks like, sounds like and feels like in a clear and consistent way across the Junior School.

It has been pleasing to see our community jump on board with this important behaviour curriculum. We will continue this work when students return in Term 3.

Getting Ready for Term 3

As we head into the holiday break, families are encouraged to pause and check that student belongings are clearly named, including jumpers, jackets, lunch boxes, drink bottles and other regularly used items. For students in Years 3 to 6, this is also a helpful time to check stationery supplies and replenish any items that may be running low ahead of Term 3.

On our Parent-Teacher-Student Conference day, families are welcome to check lost property for any items that may have been misplaced throughout the year.

We wish all Junior School families a safe, restful and enjoyable break. We look forward to welcoming students back for the beginning of Term 3.
