End of term reflections

As we come to the end of another busy and productive term, it is an important time for students to pause and reflect on the work they have completed, the progress they have made, and the habits they have developed across the term. We encourage families to take some time over the break to discuss the following questions with their child:

  • What work am I most proud of from this term?

  • Where have I shown improvement?

  • What challenges did I face, and how did I respond to them?

  • What feedback have I received from my teachers?

  • What goals should I set for Term 3?

  • What habits or routines will help me make further progress?

These conversations are valuable because they help students understand that learning is not only about results, but also about effort, preparation, resilience and growth. Reflecting honestly on a term’s worth of work can help students return in Term 3 with greater clarity, confidence and purpose.

Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences Monday 27 July

A key opportunity to support this reflection will be our Parent Student Teacher Conferences, which will take place on the first day of Term 3. These conferences provide an important opportunity for parents, students and teachers to discuss progress, celebrate strengths, identify areas for improvement, and set clear goals for the term ahead.

We strongly encourage all families to attend and to involve students in these conversations. When students hear consistent messages from both home and school, they are better placed to take ownership of their learning and make meaningful progress.

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”

— Robert Collier

As we reach the end of a busy term, this quote reminds us that growth is rarely the result of one moment, but of the small choices students make each day: to keep trying, to seek feedback, to be prepared, and to give their best.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We look forward to seeing families at the conferences and working together to ensure a positive and productive start to Term 3. Wishing our young men and their families a safe and relaxing term break.
